If you’re running a WooCommerce store, you’ll run into this list in one specific place: setting up your product feed for Google Shopping.
Every marketplace you connect to Google- Heureka, eBay, wherever asks for a country code to know which region a product belongs to.
Get the code wrong, and the item either gets flagged in Merchant Center or shows up targeting a country you never meant to sell to.
If you’re managing this through Product Feed Manager for WooCommerce, the country code goes straight into your feed’s targeting field, so this list isn’t just something to skim;
it’s the thing standing between a clean feed and a rejected one. So let’s get started with the Google list you are looking for.
Quick answer: Google Ads and Merchant Center use ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes – two-letter codes like US (United States), GB (United Kingdom), and DE (Germany) to target ads and set shipping regions in your product feed.
Case doesn’t matter, but the code has to be exact. One wrong letter and Merchant Center will reject your item or route it to the wrong region.
Google-Ländercodes-Liste
You can click on the alphabet to get the country code list that starts with that alphabet. For example, United States = you have to click “U”
If you are looking for a specific country, Press Ctrl+F (Windows) or Cmd+F (Mac), then enter the country name. It will be faster than searching through the alphabet.

Google must comply with sanctions imposed by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). As a result, Google Ads isn’t available to advertisers in the following countries or territories (with criterion ID):
Crimea (21120)
Cuba (2192)
So-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) (21113)
Iran (2364)
So-called Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) (21111)
North Korea (2408)
These same country/territory codes can’t be used as location targets in your product feed either. If you’re managing campaigns through Product Feed Manager, don’t set any of the above as a targeted country, and if you’re running a global “All countries & territories” campaign, exclude them explicitly rather than relying on the default.
If your store is physically based in one of these regions, your Google Ads account (and any linked manager account) will be suspended, with no grace period or exceptions. This applies regardless of what your feed targets.
If a country is added to this list after your campaigns are already live and targeting it, those campaigns will stop running until you update your location targeting to remove it.
This list can change without much notice, so treat it as a live reference – check Google’s official advertiser policies page if you’re ever unsure whether a country is currently restricted.
Schlussfolgerung
Country codes may seem small, but one wrong code can cause shipping or ad issues. Getting them right helps keep your product feeds accurate and running smoothly.
Google requirements and market rules can change, so always check your codes before launching. This can help you avoid product rejections and feed errors.
Country codes tell Google where your products should appear. You still control your market strategy, while the technical details can be handled automatically.
If you manage many products, doing everything manually takes time. Product Feed Manager helps automate your feeds and makes multi-channel product management easier.
01. What’s the difference between “GB” and “UK” as a Google country code?
GB is the correct country code for the United Kingdom in Google product feeds. UK is commonly used as an abbreviation, but Google expects GB as the country code. Always use GB when setting up your feed.
02. Why did my product feed get rejected over a country code?
A country code error can happen because of a typo, an invalid code, or using a country name instead of its code. Check your code against the accepted Google region codes list before submitting the feed again. This can help you prevent avoidable feed errors and disapprovals.
03. How do I target more than one country in my feed?
You can target multiple countries by adding each country separately to your feed or campaign settings. Use the correct two-letter code for every target country. Also make sure your currency, shipping, and product availability match each target market.
04. What happens if I target a sanctioned country by mistake?
If you accidentally target a restricted or sanctioned country, your products may not be eligible to serve there. Remove the country from your targeting and review Google’s current requirements. Avoid adding countries unless you are sure they are supported for your intended program.
05. Do Google Shopping and Google Ads use the same country codes?
Google Shopping and Google Ads generally use the same two-letter country codes based on the ISO country code standard. For example, use GB for the United Kingdom rather than UK. Always check the current requirements for the specific Google product or feed field you’re configuring.
