Alex asked 3 months ago

Hoping someone can help.
I am trying to upload various videos, panoramic and standard but I keep getting the message…
Unexpected response from the server. The file may have been uploaded successfully. Check in the Media Library or reload the page.
I have varied resolution, frame rate, compression all to no avail.
The movies are H264 – MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
I have tried 50fps and 25fps
I have tried resolutions 2048×1024, 1024×512
File sizes from 79MB to 414MB
all fail
Can anyone help please.

Hi,

It seems to be a server issue. We need couple of information to understand what is going on.

1. Maximum upload file size of your site.
2. How did you upload the file (via FTP/WP upload)?
3. Is the file available in Media library?

Thanks

Hi Farshid
Thank you for your response.
A1, I have set the maximum upload size to 600MB
A2, I have been attempting to upload via WP’s media page, as it is my own server I can upload via FTP or direct file transfer.
A3, No the file is not in the media library, also its not anywhere in the wp-content/uploads directory.

Hi Alex,
There are two ways you can try to upload the video:
First, go to your WordPress Dashboard > Media > Add New and upload the video.
After the upload is complete, simply copy the file link from your media server and use it to create the video tour.
Or, you can upload the video on Youtube/Vimeo, copy the video link and use it to create the video.
If you’re unable to upload the video on your media server, go to your WordPress Dashboard > Tools > Site Health.
Then choose the Info option, scroll down, and expand the Server option.
Give us a screenshot of that server section.
We’ll have a look.
Thanks.

HI
I would very much like to have the video files locally on the sever, YouTube content will be edited versions.
The issue is that I can not upload via WordPress Dashboard > Media > Add New
as in my original post I get the following message
Unexpected response from the server. The file may have been uploaded successfully. Check in the Media Library or reload the page.
The file is never uploaded to the server
