Adding background music on a virtual tour is a great way to create engagement with your viewers.
You may add soothing background music to make visitors enjoy the tour, or even record informative audio about the place and play it in the background, while the visitor takes the tour.
This is a great way to connect with the visitor and often create more engagements.
Here’s an example of a demo tour with background music:
Here are the steps to follow to add background audio to your virtual tour using WPVR.
First, go to your WordPress Dashboard > WPVR.
Click on the Tours option to edit an already existing tour or choose to create a new tour by going to Add New Tour and view the General Settings.
On the General tab, scroll down to find the option, “Enable Background Music”.
Turn On the option to Enable Background Music.
Then you will get the option to Add An Audio Link or Upload an audio file to your WordPress media library.
You will also get two more options:
Click on the blue Upload button under “Upload or add audio link” and either choose an audio file from your WordPress media library or upload an audio file.
Or you can simply provide a link to the audio in the field above the Upload button.
**Make sure you have permission to use the audio file and the file is accessible from your website.
**Only the audio file type, MP3 is accepted.
After assigning audio, choose to enable or disable the autoplay and the loop option for your background audio.
Now all you need to do is Publish or Update the tour and embed it on a page/post.
Then you can view the tour and enjoy the background audio or music.
**Please note, the background music will only work after you embed the tour on a page/post. It will not work in the Tour Preview in the backend.
A virtual tour with background music will have a music icon at the bottom right corner.
A visitor can click on this icon to pause the music, and click again to continue the music on your virtual tour made with WPVR.
